San Bruno is known for its excellent green, natural spaces and its vibrant downtown filled with locally owned shops. Located in the San Francisco Peninsula, it has a Mediterranean climate with foothills and access to the San Francisco Bay. The town is often called the “City with a Heart,” after the heart-shaped neighborhood next to the Bayshore Freeway. San Bruno has good schools and accessible transportation.
The San Francisco International airport is only three minutes away, which serves the many corporate headquarters in San Bruno well. It is a technological hub with the YouTube Headquarters providing careers and educational opportunities for the residents. There are also plenty of sites to see, mountains to hike, and great places to eat within the city limits too.

Local Lifestyle
San Bruno’s eclectic and thriving downtown, filled with mom-and-pop establishments is a draw for residents seeking a community with local roots. Residents take hula lessons at the Hula dance school or relax at one of the local coffee shops surrounded by early 20th Century architecture. The San Bruno City Park is a popular respite and recreational center with an indoor basketball court.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Artichoke Joe’s Casino has card tables, bars, big screen TVs, beer, and all the stuff you’d expect a great casino to have. It is also highly accessible with public transit, so it’s a great destination when you want to leave the car at home.
The Shops at Tanforan have name-brand stores such as Sephora, Diamonds and Gems, and Barnes & Nobles.
Taqueria San Bruno is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas as specialties. They even serve breakfast!
Rolling Pin Doughnuts is a highly rated donut shop that might be one of the best donut shops in the Bay Area.
Mazra is a tasty Mediterranean, family-owned spot that has specialties of wood-fired meats, wraps, and artisan desserts. If you are wanting pizza,
Toto’s Pizzeria has an inviting vibe. Their menu doesn’t stop with pizza though as they also offer pasta, sandwiches, salad, soup, bread, and sweets.
Things to Do
San Bruno Mountain is a County Park offering a wide variety of activities and excellent hiking options. There are breathtaking views of the Bay Area and picnic spaces. The park also has areas for playing volleyball, frisbee, and kite flying.
San Bruno Point Park is a gorgeous and breathtaking park with a runway of grassy space surrounded by water.
San Bruno City Park is a great utility park with sports fields, BBQ pits, picnic tables, a community gym, outdoor swimming pools, and plenty of room for activities.
Junipero Serra Park has trails, gorgeous views, and recently opened huge double slides.
Crystal Springs Regional Trail has three trails running from San Bruno to Woodside. It is suited for walking, running, skating, blading, bicycling, or riding horses.
Sweeney Ridge Trail has a seven-mile route where dogs are allowed and beautiful flowers can be found throughout the trail path.
Youtube Headquarters is an innovative space open to the public. It fosters creativity with interactive activities for all ages.
